LUNATICA SU VENERE
SCOTLAND
My home away from home,
But not really
The fresh air and the clean tap water that flows in my throat after a day of travel.
The place where I quickly learned there is more than way to be.
Where the duality in me grew like daffodils on the graveyard wall.
A childhood sanctuary and birthplace to my major preteen discoveries.
Feeling a sense of belonging, barely justified by half of the blood that flows through me.
Half of me.
Half of the languages I know and the food I can cook.
Nevertheless I never felt I couldn’t claim it as my own, not completely.
Family trees and seas of doubt without which I would have never become the person I am.
The mother to my mother tongue.
Where the land meets the sea.
